Travis Mays

NextGen Pastor

Travis was born in central Ohio and raised in both Columbus and New Holland. He moved to Marion, Ohio in 2020. He married his wife, Sheree, in 2016 and together they have 3 beautiful children: Tyler, Ellie and Jaxon. Travis always believed in God, but accepted Christ in 2017 after losing his mother to cancer and having a tough conversation with the hospice chaplain. After accepting Christ, he decided to dedicate his life to learning as much as he could about God and attended Liberty University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Religion. From there, God put on his heart to attend a Baptist seminary and he enrolled in New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he is currently working on a Master of Divinity with a specialization in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care.

Travis and his family started to attend Central Baptist Church in March of 2022 and almost immediately became members and started serving. Travis has served in worship services as well as serving as a youth leader every Wednesday night. Through serving the youth and many prayers, God placed a calling on Travis’ heart to serve the youth in a bigger way as a youth pastor. Travis enjoys golfing, hunting, fishing, hiking (anything outdoors), and spending time with his family and being in fellowship with other believers.
